Privacy Statement
Medicina Clínica y Social (MCS) processes the personal data it receives solely to run the journal and its publications.
What data we collect
- Registration data: name, email address, institutional affiliation, country and, if provided, ORCID iD.
- Editorial process data: manuscripts, review comments, decisions and correspondence.
- Technical data: aggregate view and download statistics generated by the platform, and the cookies needed to log in and remember the language.
How we use it
- To manage submission, peer review, editing and publication of manuscripts.
- To communicate with authors, reviewers and editors about the editorial process.
- To issue review certificates.
- To produce aggregate editorial statistics that do not identify individuals.
What becomes public
When an article is published, the authors' names, affiliations, ORCID iDs and the other details in the article become part of the scholarly record. They are distributed with the article's metadata, including DOI registration with Crossref and delivery to the databases and indexes that cover the journal. For this reason they are not removed from a published article.
During peer review, the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential.
When the article is published, the review reports are published alongside it. The reviewer's name appears only with their permission; otherwise the report is shown as "Anonymous reviewer".
Who we do not share it with
We do not sell or transfer personal data to third parties, nor use it for commercial purposes or purposes unrelated to the journal.
How long we keep it
For as long as the account is active and as long as it is needed to document the editorial process.
Your rights
You can view and correct your data from your profile. To request closure of your account or deletion of unpublished data, write to soporte@medicinaclinicaysocial.org.
