Características de los hombres que tienen sexo con hombres (HSH) involucrados en sexo transaccional de Paraguay

Introducción: El sexo transaccional, definido como el intercambio de sexo por dinero, drogas u otros bienes, aumenta el riesgo de infección debido a factores como múltiples parejas sexuales, uso inconsistente del condón, mayor frecuencia de ITS y vulnerabilidades socioeconómicas Objetivo: describir las caracteristicas de los hombres que tienen sexo con hombres (HSH) involucrados en sexo transaccional de Paraguay durante el 2020. Metodología: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo de corte transversal en Asunción, Central, Alto Paraná, y Caaguazú durante el año 2020. Las variables del estudio fueron demograficas, Prácticas sexuales y comportamientos de riesgo, consumo de sustancias, Conocimientos sobre VIH y la frecuencia de VIH, Sifilis y Hepatitis B. Resultados: Participaron del estudio 333 HSH involucrados en sexo transaccional, el 58,86% (196) tenía una edad entre 20 a 29 años. En los últimos seis meses, 52,85% (n=176) recibió dinero, drogas u otros beneficios a cambio de relaciones sexuales. La frecuencia de Sífilis fue del 13,21% (n=44), la frecuencia de VIH 13,21% (n=44)y la frecuencia de HepatitisB, fue de 1,20% (n=4) de la muestra. Conclusión: este estudio destaca la alta vulnerabilidad de los HSH involucrados en sexo transaccional en Paraguay y la necesidad urgente de intervenciones específicas y basadas en evidencia para esta población
